Bill Banks - Senior Advisor

Bill Banks has 20+ years senior management experience, largely focused on building businesses and long-term client relationships with financial services and technology firms.

Prior to joining The Curran Group, Bill was most recently with Merriman Curhan Ford, a growth-oriented investment banking firm, where he was President of the MCF Wealth Management subsidiary focused on the acquisition and management of independent investment advisory firms. While at Merriman, Bill was also responsible for the acquisition of Panel Intelligence, a provider of custom primary market research. Bill also served as President of Panel Intelligence subsequent to its acquisition.

Prior to Merriman, Bill was Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Advisor Software (ASI) where he was responsible for all aspects of marketing, communications and sales. ASI is a leading provider of investment analytics and portfolio construction capabilities for investment advisors. Bill successfully built recurring license revenue streams from such clients as Barclays Global Investors, State Street, Vanguard, TD Waterhouse, and Ameritrade.

Prior to ASI, Bill was Executive Vice President for Longitude, where he was responsible for strategy, marketing and communications. Longitude is a provider of capital market financial technology that enables the creation and trading of new types of derivative instruments.  Its customers include firms such as Goldman Sachs, Deutsche Bank, JPMorgan, Bear Stearns, and Swiss Re.

Early in his career, Bill was a senior associate with Kidder Peabody & Company in the institutional fixed income group. Bill is a graduate of Dartmouth College and the Stanford Graduate School of Business
