Laura Russell-Jones - Director

Laura Russell-Jones is professional business woman with over fifteen years experience in business development, sales & marketing. She is an entrepreneur and founder of Posh Baban (www.poshbaban.com), an online boutique e-retailer that sells luxurious baby gifts and clothing.  In addition, she is experienced in corporate finance and has her Series 7 (General Securities) license.

Prior to joining the Curran Group, Ms. Russell-Jones worked at a boutique investment banking firm based in Washington, D.C. that provided merger and acquisition and corporate advisory services for the middle market.  As Director of Business Development and later as Principal in their San Francisco office, she worked on both buy-side and sell-side engagements and was involved in every aspect of the transaction, including soliciting interest from prospective buyers, assisting in due diligence as well as participating in financial analysis and financial modeling.

Ms. Russell-Jones also lived in London and managed the sales efforts of Euromoney’s Corporate Finance Magazine, a specialist publication for CFOs, finance directors and corporate treasurers for leading international corporates.  As Sales Manager, she was responsible for selling to leading investment bankers across the UK, Europe, Asia and the US, as well as managing and leading a highly successful international sales team.  Ms. Russell-Jones rapidly climbed the ranks of Euromoney Plc, significantly increased sales revenue for the publication, whose personal sales accounted for over 50% of revenue, was ranked as Euromoney’s top salespeople, and was promoted twice within two years. 

During the dotcom boom, Ms. Russell-Jones was also Director of Business Development for httprint, a bricks and mortar and online printing company that offered print production management services and an online print procurement and management eCommerce Solution.  She helped grow the company from a 6-person online start-up to an international $30 million company with a staff of over 100.  She played an integral part in the development of the eCommerce Solution, helped generate its first clients and increase corporate revenues over 400%, and negotiated partner alliances. 

She is a graduate of University of California Berkeley with a degree in political economics She lives in Oakland with her husband, Dylan, a Welshman, and their daughter, Isabella.
